Spoons
Pass fast, find four of a kind, grab a spoon.

Also called Pig, Donkey and Tongue.
Everyone passes at once, as fast as they can, until someone holds four of a kind and grabs a spoon. The spoons are on screen, so there’s no scramble across the table and the game sees who was too slow. Or put real spoons in the middle and play it the old way.
Play nowPlaying on Card Sard
- Open cardsard.com on a TV, laptop or tablet and press Host.
- Everyone else opens cardsard.com on their phone, presses Join, and types the room code or scans the QR code. There’s nothing to install.
- Choose Spoons and play: each hand on its own phone, the table on the big screen.
How to play Spoons
Goal
Get four of a kind and grab a spoon, or at least don’t be the one left without. Miss out and you take a letter of S-P-O-O-N-S. The last player who hasn’t spelled it wins.
The deal
- Everyone is dealt 4 cards. There’s one spoon fewer than there are players.
- The spoons are on screen.
- There are no turns: everyone plays at once, as fast as they can.
Passing
- Pick up the top card of the pile beside you (the dealer picks up from the deck), so you hold five.
- Pass any one of your five onto the next player’s pile. You can’t pick up again until you’ve passed.
- Keep going until you hold four cards of the same rank.
The spoons
- With four of a kind, drag a spoon to your seat on your phone. The first grab stops the passing.
- Once a spoon is gone, anyone may grab one, whatever they hold. One spoon each.
- Whoever is left without a spoon takes a letter.
Winning
Spell all of S-P-O-O-N-S and you’re out. The next round has one spoon fewer. The last player still in wins.
Variations
Picked in the lobby before the game starts.
- Spoons: On screen. The game sees who was too slow and keeps the score. The host can also choose On the table, with real spoons in the middle and the host saying who missed out.
- Grabbing a spoon: Drag to your seat. The host can also choose Tap, which is easier for small hands.
