Ride the Bus
Red or black, higher or lower… then ride.

- Guessing
- Party
Red or black, higher or lower, inside or outside, then the suit: four right calls in a row get you off the bus. Here everyone guesses along on their own phone and scores when they’re right, so nobody just watches while someone else rides.

How to play Ride the Bus
Goal
Score the most points. One player at a time rides the bus, but everyone answers every question, and everyone who is right scores.
The four questions
- Colour: is the next card red or black?
- Higher or lower: is the next card higher or lower than the first card, or the same? Aces are high.
- Inside or outside: does the next card fall between the first two, outside them, or on the edge, equal to one of them?
- Suit: is the next card Spades, Hearts, Clubs or Diamonds?
Riding the bus
- The rider is picked at random.
- Each question turns over one card. A wrong answer sends the rider back to the first question with fresh cards. Four right in a row and they’re off the bus.
- The rider takes as long as they like. Once they’ve answered, everyone else has 5 seconds to guess along. A wrong guess from anyone else costs nothing.
Scoring
- A right answer scores 1 point for the colour, 2 points for higher or lower, 4 points for inside or outside, and 8 points for the suit.
- Getting off the bus earns the rider 32 points more.
- Once everyone has ridden, the highest score wins.
Variations
Picked in the lobby before the game starts.
- Pick the rider at random: On. The game picks who rides next from those who haven’t yet. Off, the host picks who rides next.
- Time to guess along: 5 seconds. The host can choose anything from 5 to 60 seconds. The rider is never timed.
- Points: 1 · 2 · 4 · 8 · 32. What the colour, higher or lower, inside or outside, the suit and getting off the bus are each worth. The host can set each from 0 to 50.
- Deck: 52 cards. The usual deck. On the Deck tab, the host can add suits (Stars, Moons, Crowns, Towers), add number cards past 10 or shuffle more than one deck together.
